Head of Enterprise Architecture
As Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will be accountable for the design, documentation, and integrity of enterprise-wide systems architecture across the Target Healthcare Group, spanning internal platforms, third-party connected systems, and the data flows between them.
You will report directly to the Group IT Director and operate as a key member of the IT Management team, providing strategic direction on how the business and its technology requirements interact and evolve over time.
The role holder will provide insight and strategic direction of how the business, and its technology requirements interact and function.
Key Responsibilities
-
Designing, documenting, and maintaining end-to-end target state architecture across our systems and infrastructure.
-
Developing and owning multi-year technology roadmaps that support business growth and operational resilience across our multi-site, international footprint.
-
Producing and maintaining data flow diagrams to clearly map how information moves between interconnected systems.
-
Ensuring architectural completeness and integrity, that all stakeholder concerns are addressed, reconciling competing priorities across security, performance, and cost.
-
Working in close collaboration with the Group IT Director to identify capabilities, services, or platforms that could strengthen our competitive position, with AI and agentic AI a near-term focus.
-
Leading technical and business projects through the full lifecycle, from identification through to execution, evaluation, and transition into IT operations.
-
Managing project risks and issues, including appropriate mitigation strategies and maintenance of the IT risk register.
-
Ensuring all solutions are designed within a cost-conscious framework with clearly articulated business value and outcomes.
-
Ensuring deployed solutions comply with Enterprise Architecture and Security Standards.
-
Collaborating with project managers, technical leads, suppliers, and customers to identify and manage requirements and dependencies.
-
Providing regular management reporting to project teams and steering groups.
-
Staying current on the latest trends in technology architecture, including AI-driven approaches, new frameworks, and emerging best practices, and educating technical teams and partners accordingly.
-
Working with the Group IT Director and IT Management team to define, socialise, and implement the Group's IT strategy.
About You
We are looking for a technically credible, commercially aware Enterprise Architect who can operate with confidence at both strategic and delivery levels. You will be as comfortable presenting to a board as you are reviewing a data flow diagram.
You will bring:
• A strong grounding in recognised architectural frameworks, including TOGAF or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with cloud architecture across Azure, AWS, or GCP, and an understanding of how hybrid and multi-cloud environments function in practice.
• Solid knowledge of cyber security standards and frameworks, including ISO 27001 and NIST CSF.
• Familiarity with modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation, and an appreciation of how these intersect with enterprise architecture
• A track record of delivering technology projects that produce meaningful business outcomes, not just technical outputs.
• Experience working across complex, multi-site or international organisations, ideally in regulated sectors such as healthcare or manufacturing.
• The ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders, and to build credibility across both audiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity and an entrepreneurial mindset, this role requires someone who can set direction, not just follow it.
• An active interest in AI and emerging technologies, with the vision to see how they can be practically applied in a real-world enterprise context.
Why Join Target Healthcare Group?
This is a role for someone who wants to shape something, not inherit it. You will define our architecture practice, set the standards, and work directly with the Group IT Director to drive a technology strategy that keeps pace with a fast-moving, multi-site healthcare and manufacturing business.
The decisions made in the next two to three years will determine how well our technology estate scales, how securely our data flows, and how effectively we can take advantage of emerging capabilities. You will be central to all of it.
